Happy Friday! Snail Mail Collective Round FIVE is ready for action, y’all!
In case you’ve never heard of the Snail Mail Collective before, then let me explain! SMC is a monthly international package and friendship exchange. It is free to sign up and you will be paired with one other person (often from a different country!). Then, you’ll get to know each other for a couple weeks through emails, twitter, blog posts — whatever you like! After that, you’ll mail off a small gift (totaling $5) to your partner. SMC exists as a way for people to meet new friends from around the world. It’s an inter-cultural friendship exchange and we’d love for you to be a part of it!
The theme for November is: what are YOU grateful for?
Maybe you’re grateful for warm cups of coffee or your family. Great! Then you could send your partner a bag of local coffee beans or a picture frame for their own family photos. Be creative! Share what you’re thankful for with your partner and spread the gratitude! It would also be amazing (and totally soul-nourishing) if you and your partner’s email exchanges discussed some things you’re grateful for! 🙂
In case you want to sign up for the Snail Mail Collective this month, please fill out this form. You may sign up until 22:00PST on November 7th. Thereafter, your pairing will be posted on this blog and on Lost in Travels on November 9th or 10th. Additionally, I recommend reviewing the rules of the Snail Mail Collective to ensure that you will be able to actively participate. Please only sign up if you are willing to commit to actively communicating with your partner and to sending them a small gift.
Now, link up your blog posts from the October session of SMC!
In addition to sending gifts and making a new pal, you have the option to write a blog post about your experience, what you gave/received, etc! We’d LOVE to hear how it went! Then, you can share your blog posts below and hop around to other blogs to see how everyone else did.
