I’ve become obsessed with interiors that use lots of plants. (And from the looks of things, so has Pinterest!). They just have a way of making any space feel bright, lively, and gorgeous. As I search around for some new plants to adorn my home, I’ve found a few neat ways to decorate with plants so that you can mix up that ol’ flowers-in-a-vase thing and add some new dimension to your home. I’d love to hear how you’ve incorporated plants into your home’s decor. Which plants do you find to be the most hardy? I’m still figuring that one out! 😉

Use a cart or bench

So simple! I love how they styled this cart. If you have an extra surface without much goin’ on, try adding tons of plants and making it a beautiful, lively little plant shrine.

Eclectic White Pots

I think using a variety of pots makes any plant area look more interesting. I love how these all match the same color scheme as well! Try mixing up your pots and clumping a bunch of them in the same area.

Macramé Plant Hangers

Adding hanging plants in an interior can make things really pop, since it’s unexpected and adds a new layer to your decor. This dip-dyed version is basically perfect! *heart eyes emoji*

Use fronds or branches

Instead of using an entire plant, why not add a frond or branch here and there? It adds that bit of plant beauty and looks great with bohemian or modern designs.

Long, hanging plants

I LOVE plants that drape down from high shelves. It’s just such an unexpected touch that really makes your rooms memorable.

Quirky, DIY pots

How adorable are these? Even pots with different shapes and colors can look great together. I love that teal smiling one below — so cute!

Create your own plant corner

If you have any areas of your home that are unfilled, then adding different layers of plants can turn it into a whimsical plant sanctuary. I especially love how this one incorporates different levels, with tiny pots on the floor, large potted plants, long draping plants, and a shelf. So gorgeous!

Ol’ Faithful: A big one next to the couch

This one is probably the most standard I’ve seen, but still a lovely option! Get a large plant and prop it next to your sofa or a favorite chair. Instant spice for your living room!

  1. Gina Alyse says:

I love the quirky DIY pots! Those are so fun! And what a fun way to decorate a home with plants in general. I love how they add life to a room!

  2. I’ve always loved hanging plants. They’re so pretty! And I like bamboo, because I’ve always found them to be hard to kill. I don’t have a green thumb, so… I need plants that are hard to kill! 🙂

  3. I love the geometric pots with the plants… I think it’s a really neat juxtaposition of the natural, organic, earthiness with the more rigid geometrics. I had a few succulents in my room in Colorado, but they were dying (I’m not sure why… you’d think they’d do well in a dry, arid environment, especially during the summer but I digress). I really want to buy a succulent or a plant of some sort for my room in France! I saw some cute ones at the market a few weeks ago… it may just have to happen. 🙂

  4. Corina Nika says:

brilliant ideas! i would have them everywhere in my house if i could! meaning if i didn’t have a dog and a cat who are seriously into damaging them

  5. Danielle says:

I love these, especially the little geometric pots. I’ve been looking for ways to spice up my apartment and I think decorating with some plants will do just the trick. Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. Stacia says:

Succulents are my favorite and I find that they tend to be the most hardy for me. I love the geometric cement pots! 🙂

  7. Natalie Britton says:

I LOVE this post! I’m actually moving into a new apartment this weekend and am planning to just fill it with plant life. I’m taking a workshop with Pigment in San Diego in a couple weeks to make my own macrame plant hanger, too! Plants bring such a wonderful life to any space.

  8. Amanda Greer says:

These are all so gorgeous! In the last couple of weeks, I bought 9 plants for our tiny apartment and my fiancé asked me, “Are you trying to turn it into a jungle?!” I think I’ll have to show him this post…

  9. Katerina says:

There’s a big window in my living room and I have in front of it 4 orchids as well as a big pot with a plant whose name I don’t know in English..Oops!

  10. Porsche says:

In the picture “Create your own plat corner”, does anybody know what the tall tree-like plant is. The one with the pink spike leaves. I must have one!

  11. Kelly says:

I just started collecting plants and i am addicted. <3!

  12. Love the white pots! Uniformed without being to plain!

  13. Neal Dubey says:

Can you give a suggestion how to store indore plants i am hire most of indoor green plants on rent

  14. Holly Young says:

Really like the cart idea! Not only gets some green into your room, but creates different levels in the room that you can play with! Check out our site http://www.alexandivy.com if you wanna get some more tips on how to revamp you room!

  15. Betty Potter says:

Hey, I really like the DIY Pots idea! I know the next thing I’m going to do after getting free from my work is that pots thing. I’ve already that cart thing in my home where I’ve placed plants and 2 salt lamps on each side. They look incredible. You can experiment your plants decor with the salt lamps. They make them look beautiful at night. I bought the salt lamp from Saltean https://www.saltean.com/. Check their website if you want.

  16. IttefaqCo says:

Thanks for sharing such amazing ideas. I will definitely try them out to decorate my house very soon. This Christmas season, I was looking for new warm and cozy home decor ideas. One of my friends suggested me to incorporate Himalayan salt lamps to decorate my living room, so i bought them. I just love these lamps. Everybody gets attracted by its beautiful glow. They give such warm feeling and change the whole environment by its beautiful shape. I would suggest everyone to place them in your living room and offices. If you want to know more about the different types of these amazing salt lamps then you can visit https://www.ittefaqco.com/ .
