Welcome to Weekly Wishes, a personal goal setting community where you can share your upcoming dreams and hold yourself accountable to achieve them. I’d love for you to join us and add a link to your own goal-oriented blog post! It’s a great way to make new friends from around the world and gain some motivation to achieve your weekly aspirations.

Hello friends and Happy Monday. 🙂 This past week was spent working and shopping around for some new living room items. My living room is really starting to feel like a “home” now and I’m so happy with how it’s coming along. I’ve never decorated something so intensely, but I actually really, really enjoy it. It’s kind of like graphic designing…but in physical form! It was also a close friend’s birthday this weekend, so I was happy to see and celebrate with him. 🙂 Other than that, things have been pretty lowkey lately. Just working away and trying to enjoy the stillness. 🙂

In other news…after a ridonkulous amount of thought, I’ve decided to retire Weekly Wishes at the end of this month.

I’ve been hosting this linkup every week for almost two years now, and I have loved seeing it grow into a community of go-getters. It’s beautiful to see so many people come together to set goals and make things happen and I enjoy every comment and email I receive from people who have said that Weekly Wishes has helped them accomplish their goals. It’s such a simple practice, but I’m amazed by the impact people have seen from it. To the people who regularly participate, I am so impressed and humbled by your participation.

But as with anything, I think it’s important to take stock every now and then and decide if something still fits into your life and goals. As much as I LOVE goal setting and creating communities, I think I’ve let Weekly Wishes sit stagnantly for too long and haven’t put the TLC into it that it deserves. It feels like a project that’s “there,” but that I haven’t had the time to love or care for in recent months. Instead of letting it trot along without much direction, I think it would be best to let it retire. You are, of course, welcome to continue writing weekly goals on your blog. In fact, I encourage it! I also won’t be disappearing from the goal-setting game completely. Rather than sharing weekly goals, I’ll be sharing monthly goals in longer form, with goals and stats for myself and The Nectar Collective. I hope you’ll find those posts even more informative and interesting. They won’t be a linkup, but you’re welcome to leave a link to your own posts in the comments — I’d love to read them!

Lastly, as Weekly Wishes retires, I’ll soon be launching a new project with the similar objective of “creating progress.” It’s called The Blog Hive and it’s geared toward bloggers and business owners who want to create a buzzing, beautiful, and profitable blog. If you want to stay in touch with the Weekly Wishes community, The Blog Hive will likely be a great place to do that. 🙂 You can sign up for our newsletter for updates on when that will be released. I can’t wait! It’s one of the big passion projects I’ve been working on lately. 🙂 Though it’s a little different, I think it will be the perfect successor to Weekly Wishes.

Again, thank you for participating in Weekly Wishes and being here, now. It’s hard to let go of a project that has been part of TNC for so long, but when it’s time, it’s time. Thank you so much for understanding! I will be doing one last round of Weekly Wishes next week for anyone who would like to participate in the last one. 🙂

Last Week’s Goals

  1. Start working on my other projects!! I did! I also mentioned one of them above — I can’t wait to share more details about it! 🙂

This Week’s Goals

  1. Sell or donate things I don’t need. I listed a bunch of random things on Craigslist yesterday, hoping to get rid of some furniture and whatnot that’s sitting around my house. Surprisingly, people are actually interested in them! I’m hoping to sell all of the furniture I no longer need so that it feels less cluttered here. 🙂
  2. Stop mindlessly checking things on the internet. I’ve talked about this before, but it’s difficult to really get to a mindset where I don’t feel compelled to check my email or other sites every 10 minutes. I have a bad habit of multitasking in distracting ways — like checking my Twitter while doing something business-related. I know some people create set times when they check their email and social media, rather than opening the tabs sporadically throughout the day. I think that’s something I need to try this week!

  1. For some reason, I am not surprised the WW is ending. I had a hunch for some reason. I’m excited to hear more about your new ventures – as always – I know it’s going to be fabulous! xo

  2. I know what you have planned next is going to be just as inspiring as WW. I have enjoyed it and it has motivated me each week. You entire blog motivates me!

  3. Early August says:

Im so sad to see Weekly Wishes go but im also excited to see what else you have in store!!

  4. Cheryn Bloom says:

Sounds like the Blog Hive is going to be lots of fun and I look forward to getting involved! It will certainly be sad to see WW hang up its boots though but I guess when something has run its course, its run its course. It was so much fun while it lasted 🙂

  5. So sad to see it go! But I am excited for the Blog Hive. Sounds very cool and I’m definitely interested in getting involved!

  6. I’m going to miss weekly wishes, but I think I’m still going to keep up with it on my own blog. Can’t wait to hear more about The Blog Hive though! Sounds like a lot of fun.

  7. Kayse says:

I almost dropped my tea cup when I read this! But I’m excited to see what the Blog Hive is all about.

  8. I really enjoy reading your goals, but I never join it because it’s completely out of my blog subject. So I hope this new project doesn’t need I publish something on my blog. So I can jump in!!! Excited and curious!! 😉

  9. I really need to sell and donate a lot of my belongings. I have just so much “stuff” that has accumulated over the years and so much of it I no longer have a use for. And I’m excited to hear more about The Blog Hive!

  10. Oh man, me too!! And I hope you like it, Lauren! 🙂

  11. andruida says:

Oh no! so sad that this is the last weekly wishes, but I understand why. I signed up for the Blog Hive and can’t wait to know more about it!!!

  12. Ashley | StyleOnHigh says:

I’m so excited for your new projects! Thanks for hosting Weekly Wishes. It’s been one of my favorite linkups but I understand the need to move forward. Good luck with your goals this week! 🙂

  13. Stacia says:

I’m excited to see what form this new project takes! It will be weird to not see Weekly Wishes pop up every Monday, but I’m excited to see where you are taking TNC!

  14. I’m new here but already looking forward to your new project. Sounds fun !!

  15. Vanessa Du says:

So sad to say goodbye to weekly wishes, I just joined the community. But, I will still do monthly goals posts as well. And, I’m very excited for the new project. Thank you Mel for creating this great community!

  16. I’ve been wondering if Weekly Wishes would be coming to an end sometime soon, but I thought it was just because while I have been posting goals, I haven’t actually been linking up as much so it hasn’t been on my radar as much. It will be strange not to see these posts every Monday!

  17. Cassandre says:

I am sorry to hear that but i look forward to theb blog hive!!! ironically I had just decided to do monthly weekly wishes vs weekly LOL i was slowly transitioning my self.Onward and upward 🙂

  18. Aw man! Sucks to say goodbye for this link up, but it has been fun! Now I just have to stalk fellow goers on Twitter with the hashtag. Hah! Hopefully your furniture will find new home soon, so more space for Monja and you to roll ’bout. 😉

  19. Ashleigh says:

I’m pretty new to TNC too, and loved the idea of Weekly Wishes, even though I didn’t participate. I’m excited to see what the Blog Hive is all about!

  20. So sad to see it all come to an end, but have enjoyed my brief time with you and the others on this my first ever link up. Look forward to seeing all about Blog Hive. Good luck donating all your things.
