Welcome to Weekly Wishes, a personal goal setting community where you can share your upcoming dreams and hold yourself accountable to achieve them. I’d love for you to join us and add a link to your own goal-oriented blog post! It’s a great way to make new friends from around the world and gain some motivation to achieve your weekly aspirations.
Hi friends! I hope you had a splendid week. I spent most of mine working or wandering around LA with Paul. I also visited my mom in San Diego! She’s a hairstylist and did my hairs, too. 😀 I have pretty curly/wavy hair, but prefer to wear it straight. She does a “Keratin Treatment” on my hair, which straightens the crap out of it without frying it. It’s witchcraft. Also, life-changing.
The #TNCLovesSpring challenge also ended on Sunday! I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and the fact that so many people participated really warmed my heart. I loved getting to know you all through your photos! You all are awesome! I’ve had a few questions about whether or not I’ll do another one. No plans yet, but I certainly would like to. 🙂
By the way, I’m currently working from my new sofa that was delivered just about an hour ago! *heart eyes* I’m super stoked. I should also mention that across from me is a pile of clutter and random things I probably need to throw away or donate. But this corner I’m sitting in? Lookin’ reeeaal sexy. 😉
Last but not least, I’m headed to Coachella this weekend! I.can’t.wait. Anyone else going? 🙂
How was your week?

Last Week’s Goals
- Try to eat a vegan (or maybe pescetarian) diet. The day after I set this goal, I decided to tone it down and just do dairy-free to see how that goes. Friends. The results have been GREAT. My skin looks noticeably better and breakouts are few and far between. I’ve even grown a sincere liking to vegan cheese. 😉
- Stay consistent with the #TNCLovesSpring challenge. Heck yes! I actually finished every prompt — woohoo!
- Visit a dog trainer! Yep! The trainer was a really neat guy. We’re still working on Monja’s outdoor behavior, but he’s improving. Little by little. 🙂
This Week’s Goals
- Finish all my work before Coachella! I’ll be leaving Thursday night and definitely don’t want to feel like I still have things to do. This means scheduling blog posts and finishing up client projects or getting ahead of schedule on continuing projects, among other things.
- Have a blast at Coachella. Nuff said! 🙂

p.s. Come back later today for a giveaway with one of my favorite artsy brands. 😀 If you dig hand-lettering, you’ll love this.

😀 Can’t wait to see pictures of the sexy couch!! I wish I could go to Coachella but it’s a bit far for me. Also I admire you for going dairy free! I am french and the thought of giving up real cheese seems impossible to me. Have a great week!
oh man, giving up cheese was the worst (but actually, easiest!) part!
Have a blast at Coachella! 🙂 I’ve heard so many good things about it.
Thanks lady! 🙂
My goal is to recover from my cold and catch up on class readings! I wonder which task will be more draining 😛 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

Ooo have fun at Coachella! It’s on my hopefully-someday bucket list. 😉
I hope you make it there one day, it’s a lot of fun! 🙂
That’s awesome you are trying to do a vegan (ish) diet! I stopped eating meat and dairy after watching Vegucated in January and feel pretty amazing 🙂
If you ever make pizza, and need a great alternative to cheese try this one: http://minimalistbaker.com/my-favorite-vegan-pizza/ It is made with cashews and nutritional yeast! I’m pretty OBSESSED with it.
You will have no problem getting stuffs done and definitely no issue having tons of fun! Whoop!
hehe thanks Elizabeth!
Omg this is just what I was looking for! I’ve been wanting to be involved with a linkup but haven’t seen one that fits me at all. This awesome. Definitely going to be getting involved with this.
As for your last week’s first goal, that’s actually been something I’ve toying around with. Luckily my husband (unknowingly) bought a vegan cookbook (Thug Kitchen) and I think that’s my sign to just jump in and do it.
WOO! So glad you found us here, Kaitlyn! And I love thug kitchen!! So funny. I had no idea it was vegan though! Maybe I need to take a second gander at it. 🙂
Kudos on going dairy-free. That would actually be so hard for me ’cause I love milk lol. Hope you have a blast at Coachella
Ahh I love cheese! Luckily there are alternatives for both! 🙂
AND what color is your couch?
Giving up cheese is easy in Asia because it is so darn expensive! BUT when I get home give me all the cheese please!
Have fun at Coachella. I just read an article in the airplane the other day about it =) and by read I mean I skimmed and looked at pictures.
Drumroll…grey!! I took yours (and pretty much everyone’s! HA!) advice to get a grey couch and some in yo’ face pillows. 🙂 And even when I lived in Asia, I ALWAYS bought cheese. it was a staple in my diet haha. Once I found an enormous (like, as long as my forearm) block of cheddar cheese at the foreign foods store and made grilled cheeses for every meal for like, two weeks. Worst.breakout.of.my.life. But also totally worth it. 😉
Woo! So glad you had a blast at Coachella 🙂 Also, I’m practically pescetarian and my body is super happy!

Don’t write off the vegan thing totally! It can seem like a huge leap at first, but it gets so much easier. You have all the health & environmental benefits of not eating animal products, plus the comfort of making more compassionate choices!
If you need some ideas or support, Vegan Foodies would love to have you! We’re on Facebook and Pinterest. https://www.pinterest.com/veganfoodies/
Hooray vegan cheese! It is seriously SO delicious. I’m so proud of you for trying a vegan diet, even if it is only starting dairy-free. That’s huge!!! I’ve been vegan for nearly 10 months now and you’re right – dairy makes such an impact on your skin. Admittedly, I’ll have an all-natural Greek yogurt ONCE in a BLUE MOON but whatever it takes for you to be happy with your diet 🙂 And by diet I mean “food you eat” not “attempt to lose weight” lol (just to clarify). I love these linkups and will be adding mine later tonight!

PS I LOVED #TNCLovesSpring!
It really is delicious!! Even my boyfriend was really into it! That’s awesome that you’ve been vegan for 10 months! It definitely seems manageable and worth it. 🙂
And SO glad you loved #TNCLovesSpring! YAYYYYY! 🙂 Thanks for participating!
I had so much fun doing the challenge. I always thought about keratin being a curly haired gal, but that seems like more maintenance….is it? Have fun at the festival and good luck with your goals this week.
I honestly feel like it’s less! It depends how you feel about your curly hair though. I felt like mine was unmanageable and I spent a lot of time straightening or styling it anyways. With the keratin treatment, my hair is good to go for the day in much less time. The treatment does take a couple hairs to do at a salon though, so that part is a bit more maintenance, but worth it for me. 🙂
Awesome idea for the weekly wishes. I just started to join in the community and I’m already having fun with it. Enjoy your week! I’m sure you’ll have a blast in Coachella. Hopefully next year, I can go too!

Woohoo! Glad to have you here, Colet! And I hope you make it to Coachella next year, too. 🙂
Oh, I didn’t write it off! Just wanted to start a little smaller. 🙂 I was a vegetarian and avid animal rights advocate for about 15 years, so I’m definitely with you on all the positive reasons to switch. It’s definitely something that’s still in the stars for me one day. 🙂
How interesting! I’m always curious about what pulls people away from vegetarianism/veganism after they’ve been one for so long. I know that a lot of people abandon it, but I just can’t imagine it for myself.
I always wonder that too! I just started a vegetarian diet in January and wonder if people stop because it gets too difficult? I get a little worried that it could happen to me.
I always feel like it must come down to the reasons for your decision. If it’s purely a diet choice (like someone might choose to be paleo or gluten-free for non-celiac reasons, etc.), I can see it being easy to move away from it. If you’re usually around people who do eat meat, or you don’t find it convenient in the area where you live, it could be easy to slip back.
Personally, my reasons were ethical first and then environmental and personal health benefits, so I can’t see myself ever going back. Veganism is just part of my life now, and it’s natural to make choices that align with it. Besides not consuming any animal products, I also strive to make compassionate, ethical choices in terms of everything from fashion and cosmetics to household products and everything in between. I know that I’m not perfect and that no matter how hard I try to avoid it, I’m sure that I use products that could be considered questionable from time to time, but I don’t think that means it’s any less worthwhile to make the effort. Sometimes it takes a little more planning at first, but after a little while it just becomes habit and it’s easy. 🙂
I could never have imagined it for myself either. I think the reason I switched is because I lived in Japan for about 2.5 years and vegetarianism just doesn’t exist there. I spent about 1.5 of those years working hard to maintain a vegetarian diet, but it was very hard when there were few options and I got curious about their traditional foods. Never say never — life has a funny way of turning things on their heads. 😉 But while my diet has changed, my values have not.
Oh thank you thank you for that pizza and parmesan recipe!! I actually made a vegan pizza last night using daiya, but would kill for some parmesan. I know what I’m making next week! 😀
I’m actually not a huge fan of Daiya! Glad I found this parmesan recipe because it is a 100x better!!
I’ve only used Daiya, but I really like it! Doesn’t taste good cold, but melted it’s really good! I’ve only tried the shredded kinds so far, but I like ’em! 🙂 What about you?
haha I always hated class readings. >_<
Have fun at Coachella! I am so super jealous!
Thank you Kendel! 🙂
My body always does best on a dairy free diet as well. It’s a bummer that dairy is so tasty, though. lol
haha I know right?!! I love cheese T_T
