I follow a lot of artists on Instagram, as their work often inspires me during my frequent periods of social media scrolling. One woman whose posts I always look forward to is Australian artist, Laura Blythman. Laura’s colorful art and collages are quirky and fun — it’s hard not to fall in love with the gorgeous pieces she creates. Today, I wanted to share a few of my favorites. I hope her work inspires you as much as it does me!

These are marshmallows that were created from a collaboration with Boomf. How neat!

Digging this cute packaging she did for Grace and James Candle Co.

Laura also did a collaboration with Pete Cromer (below) called Enemies Yay. It’s seriously cute and creative.

And for the record, don’t you wish you lived in Laura’s house? My favorite interiors are white with pops of vibrant colors, just like hers.

What do you think of Laura’s art?

I love the bright colors of her art, so vibrant, certainly against the white! I need a new piece of bright and fun art for my new home!

I know right? I love how she pairs such vibrant colors with lots of white! So beautiful!
it’s gorgeous, I’m such a fan of that styling. I’m moving house this Friday and I’ve already created so many amazing rooms in my mind, that i’m so excited to get them out. White with pops of color is my main decor plan haha, with hints of grey. 🙂
I love that! I hope you’ll share photos! 🙂
I love how her art is so bright and colorful! She’s certainly nailed down her own style. It would make any home pop out.

I totally agree!
Oh I LOVE that! I love the white with bright washed down colours.
love the colors and how unique it is
Me too! 🙂
That’s a really good idea to follow artists for inspiration! I love Laura’s art it’s so bold and colorful – there’s a quirky edge to it as well.
Yeah! Ever since I added artists and makers to my Instagram feed, I always enjoy scrolling through! I find so much inspiration there now!
I love how textured it all is and how happy it makes me feel when I see it. Thanks for letting me know she exists! I’m definitely going to be checking her work out more! How do you go about finding art that inspires you?
Glad you dig it, Stacia! And hmm that’s a good question! I think I tend to investigate whenever I find something I really like, for example on Pinterest or Instagram, I’m always clicking around to see who created things and to learn more about them. I also find that once I’ve discovered a few favorites, they’ll often reference some of their favorites, so I follow those people, too! I guess it’s just this sort of viral way of finding more and more people who inspire me!
That’s how I tend to do it too. Most of my very favorite bloggers have been found through my other favorite bloggers – one good thing tends to lead towards another eventually, it seems. 🙂
I love all the color that she uses! 🙂 Thanks for sharing her work with us. Do you follow paperfashions on Instagram? Her account is in my top five favorites because she’s so inspiring.
I’ve never heard of that one! I just went to check it out but I’m not sure if I have the right one?! This is the one I visited: http://instagram.com/paperfashions
Oh, she doesn’t have an “s” at the end of her name. How funny that there’s also an account with my typo! 🙂 This is the one: http://instagram.com/paperfashion
She also has a couple of Skillshare classes and her artwork is amazing. She sees the world in such a creative and magical way that I’m inspired every time she posts a photo on Instagram. 🙂
Hey, you just made my day more awesome by introducing me to a freaking talented as heck artist. I love it. OMG, I LOVE IT.
WAHOO! Seriously though, isn’t she rad?!
Whoa!! I am obsessed with all of this!! Her use of vibrancy and different patterns brightens my day! Thank you so much for sharing this Melyssa! 🙂
Yay! I just love her and I’m so glad you do too, Gina! 🙂
Wow! It’s Lovely! I loved her art 😀
The colors, shapes and designs are so pretty. I feel happy just by watching them ♥.
I agree with all of the above! 🙂
I LOVE THESE.
+ caps were totally needed.
haha I AGREE! 🙂
Whimsical is the only way I can think to describe these, they’re so beautiful! I’m a fan of watercolors, but I love the mix of watercolor and shapes and textures, and everything. Plus, those are the prettiest marshmallows I’ve ever seen, and I know I would be afraid to eat them! Thanks for sharing this! I always love discovering new artists. 🙂
Whimsical sounds pretty spot on to me, Zoe! And I think I’d be afraid to eat those marshmallows too haha. Framing them sounds like the better option. Teeny tiny frames hahah. 🙂
I love this style of art. It’s so fancy and simple. I’m on a massive artist kick at the moment. It’s rare to come across artists that you consistently connect with across different pieces of work. I’m so glad you shared this! Thank you.
Hannah
So glad you dig her, too, Hannah! I know what you mean about finding an artist you consistently connect with.
Wow! Such bright, beautiful colors!! I just love it!! The art makes such a statement piece in the room!! I think I might need to try it myself – thanks for the tip!
Definitely try it out! I want to, too! Looks like a lot of fun to create. 🙂
