Interesting Links for Your Weekend

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a bunch of articles and random internet musings that I’ve been digging recently. I hope they add a little somethin’ somethin’ to your weekend. Have a great one, everybody! 🙂

Interesting (and useful!) tip for how to write blog post headlines that get read + shared.

The life of an introvert, illustrated. haha!

Six things the most organized people do everyday. Interesting!

A very haunting comparison of how the media treats white suspects and killers better than black victims.

These nine tips about “how to be a grown ass woman in romantic relationships” are so spot on (and useful!).

Bri Emery of designlovefest is one of my favorite bloggers + business ladies, so I loved this presentation she did for Creative Mornings about how she got her start.

Ever heard of Stitch Fix? A stylist picks out clothes they think you’d like and ships them to your house. I just got my first one!

Playboy has interesting, well-written, feminist articles? I didn’t know either (but you should read this one!).

One reason why time might feel like it’s passing too quickly.

Twitter might be getting a filtered (rather than chronological) feed, like Facebook! Alert the authorities!

On how the social media generation never really breaks up with anyone.

Case studies of the psychological principles of high-converting websites. I can dig it.

10 surprising facts about parenting in Japan. I definitely felt these when I lived there and this article gives a good description of Japanese culture as a whole.

On why effortlessness doesn’t exist, even when things can look so easy on the outside. Erin Loechner always gets it right.

This is how your clients actually want to contact you.

I’ve been loving this song and this song and especiallyyyy this song lately. If we’re music soulmates, you can follow me on SoundCloud.

  1. Cori says:

    Hi Mel:
    Thanks for the interesting links!
My favorite was the first one of ‘how to write blog post headlines’ since this is something I’m currently struggling with 😛
    Have a great weekend ♥.

  2. Stacia says:

There are so many links here that I will be clicking on and reading this evening. Thanks for filling up my Friday night! haha

  3. Introvert stuff is my favorite, I think I should make a journal of all the cool stuff I find. That link is perfect.

  4. I saw the heart of an introvert on my facebook newsfeed a few weeks ago, and I love it! Also, I read the article about things that organized people do… and I found it interesting. I though a lot of the things were counterintuitive, or just seemed more complicated, but maybe they would work better. I should try some of them… interesting articles! 🙂

  5. Lara de Mercy says:

Noo cannot believe twitter will have the same tragic turn that Facebook had haha
These links look really interesting 🙂 xx

  6. Lisa says:

I really liked the article on exes and social media – SO TRUE! It really is like not even really breaking up with someone nowadays, because even after a breakup a person is still SO accessible.

  7. My favorite links are “the life of an introvert” and “why is your life a blur?” 🙂 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

  8. Oh K. says:

Checking out the post title article right now! I need it. Teach me how to write titles like Refinery29!

  9. Gina Alyse says:

Thanks for sharing these, Melyssa! I loved the introvert map– so creative! And I’m not loving the supposed future of Twitter, but we’ll see! And wow, I’m currently watching Bri’s presentation. So interesting! I love her site! I hope you have a great weekend 🙂

  10. Camila says:

Some very interesting reads : really fascinated by the Japan parenting post! Kind of disturbed by the escaping exes post (that is not my reality at all), and loved the ‘how to be a grown ass woman in relationship’ very true and very cool! 🙂

  11. Great collection of links! I loved the introverts map and the article about time moving quickly. I also really enjoyed the parenting in Japan post. I saved it so that I can look at the other posts that she linked at the bottom of that one another time.

  12. Ashley says:

The Playboy article was so insightful, you’re totally right!! We’ve always been cautioned as to what we put on the internet and how we present ourselves, but phone hacking takes things to a whole new level. Disgusting.
