Facebook is the social media platform that most bloggers and entrepreneurs seem to have a serious love/hate relationship with. One day you’re all about paying for Facebook ads and scheduling content, the next you’re scratching your head wondering if all that extra work is really worth it (hint: it can definitely be worth it, learn how you can use Facebook to get more clients.)

Although Facebook may be evolving, you can definitely still use it as a tool to engage and connect with other people in your industry by joining Facebook groups. The amount of groups on Facebook can be a little overwhelming, so we’ve put together a list of nine of our favorites that aim to help and encourage entrepreneurs, creatives and bloggers.

But first, what’s the deal with Facebook groups? Why should you join them and what should you expect?

Facebook groups are definitely rising in popularity — and for good reason! Groups are private communities of people involved in the same field. Within these groups, you’re able to ask for feedback, share advice, and connect with people who have similar goals. They’re wonderful community-building tools and can even help you get more clients. But with the heaps of groups out there, how can you tell which ones are best? Here are some of the best ones we’ve come across:

Creative Biz Owners with Social Boss

Creative Biz Owners Facebook Group Hosted by Caitlin Bacher

We are big fans of Social Boss around here! This group is geared toward creative business owners and entrepreneurs. With thousands of members, you are bound to find a great deal of knowledge and support. Bonus: when you join the group you get a free copy of one of Caitlin’s e-books!

Each day of the week there’s a different theme, such as Motivational Mondays and Social Share Thursdays.

Freedom Hackers MastermindFreedom Hackers Mastermind Facebook Group by Kimra Luna

If you want to “free” yourself from your day job and start your own full-time blog or business, then this group is for you. With over 10,000 members, it’s the largest group in this list. That might sound a little overwhelming, but it actually means that there are TONS of people ready to answer your questions and offer advice. Pretty awesome! The group is hosted by boss lady, Kimra Luna, and you’ll probably appreciate her edgy approach to business.

Blog + Biz BFFs by The Nectar Collective (*EDIT* Group is closed)

Blog and Business BFFs Facebook Group

Hey, that’s us! We recently launched a brand new Facebook group so that our community would have a place to hang out together, get support, and offer advice. We’re SO stoked about this. Blog + Biz BFFs is a hub for bloggers and online entrepreneurs who want to learn, grow, and feel support from others. Like our name suggests, it’s a friendly zone and we hope to cultivate friendships and collaborations among our members. Woop woop!

**EDIT** The Blog + Biz BFFs group has been archived and is no longer in use. We appreciate all of our members very much and hope to connect with everyone in newer and better ways! If you would like to know why I decided to close down the group, you can read my thought process in this blog post.

Facebook groups can be a real hit or miss. I’ve personally joined groups simply for the fact that it had a ton of members, only to find out that less than half were ever really active-or the niche wasn’t what I thought it would be. It can be tempting to join as many as possible, but to truly gain knowledge, readers, and customers, you might want to consider picking 1 or 2 favorites that you can really devote your time to. It’s better to be truly engaged in a few groups than sporadic and inconsistent in a lot of them.

Hey, more of an Instagram kinda’ person? Check out my post on how to get more Instagram followers!

What are some of your favorite Facebook groups? Have you found them to be beneficial for your blog or business?

Pin me for later!

  1. I love finding new groups to join!! Thanks for this awesome list! 🙂

  2. So many awesome new Facebook groups! But I’m most excited for the Nectar Collectives’, of course 🙂

  3. Stacia says:

I’m part of a couple of these and it’s pretty great. I need to get better at utilizing them for connecting. Can’t wait to join another one of your groups! 🙂

  4. Noor Unnahar says:

Woah, what a great list! I am already a part of Blogging Boost. My favorite blogging group has to be HerCampus bloggers group that is mainly college students’ blogging network. They’re really friendly & helpful (:

  5. Allison says:

Woo hoo! I love me a good Facebook group, thanks for sharing this list! (I’m already a part of a couple of them.) But yeah, networking and connecting with others has been a huge help for me during the past couple of months!

  6. Andrea Jones says:

I love Andrea (Dre) Beltrami’s group: The Badass Solopreneur Society

  7. I have a huge love/hate relationship with facebook, especially since their algorithms for pages has become geared to those with money to pay for ads. I too am in some groups for blogs and such and have very much found them hit and miss, it’s a shame sometimes, although the Creatives Corner looks definitely up my street. I’m sure I’ll get there with facebook eventually; I think part of the problem is I go on huge breaks from fb for weeks and so I need to sort out my consistency.

  8. This is an awesome list! I was already a member of two groups and it’s great to see more!

  47. Tatjana Gorina says:

Hi Melyss and thank you for these wonderful tips. I tried to go to your fb group (blog+biz bffs) but the link doesn’t work. The only one I find is Blog+biz babes by Laura Iancu. I guess it’s not the one… 🙁

I am starting to finally take control of my web page, studying webdesign and thinking on how to organize the new blog and my work on it. Your webpage is like a goldmine. So much precious information! I shall soon have at least 4 full months away from my full-time job and will dedicate every minute to my new project.

I am already a member of your pinfinite growth course. Really enjoying it!

Btw, are you planning to launch Blog to Biz Hive some time next year?
    Thanks so much.
    Tatjana

    • Hi Tatjana 🙂 I am so sorry about the broken link! I shut down my Facebook group a couple of months ago. I wrote a little bit about why I made that choice here: https://melyssagriffin.com/facebookgroup/

Blog to Biz Hive generally opens for enrollment once per year, and I just recently closed enrollment on the course last month. I’d love to have you as a student when it re-opens.

      • Tatjana Gorina says:

Dear Melyssa, thank you for coming back to me so soon 🙂
I can definitely see why you decided to quit the group.
It’s a pity I discovered you a bit late to be able to enroll for Blog to Biz this year but… it’s still great I’ve found you. I’ll definitely join on the next round!
