In college I coordinated a weekend photoshoot with a bunch of my friends. 30-40 people showed up and spent the day transforming into a model, photographer, stylist, or all of the above. We traded clothes in parking lots, brought household items as props, and roamed around the city snapping photos of each other. Most people had never modeled before and no one was a professional photographer — we were all amateurs in our own ways, but spending the day with so many creative friends who dared to step out of their comfort zones was so refreshing.
In that same vein, I thought it would be fun to start doing some style posts around these parts.Ā Outfit posts will still, likely, be pretty minimal, but I did have an enormous amount of fun shooting these photos with my friend,Ā Naadine!Ā It’s amazing to make creative things, but it’s an entirely new sensation when youĀ are the creative thing — when your body and clothes and expressions interact with your environment to create some sort of art. So, I’m probably not vying for a spot as the next fashion blogger, but if dancing in front of colorful walls makes me feel more alive, then you better believe I’m down. š
I’m cracking up in the last photo because there were people around while I was dancing. So.many.people. Or at least it felt that way! haha!
Fixing my hair or flexing my muscles? You decide. š
I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but I’ve been wearing that ring with two hands embracing since I was in junior high. I tend to hold onto things that are meaningful for entirely too long. Also, yes, my shirt is missing a button. This is probably why I could never be a fashion blogger. š
