I live in a pretty small apartment, so as far as Christmas decorations go, I have to be a little strategic. Literally “decking the halls” might make things look a little cramped and OH-MY-GOD-I’M-IN-AN-ELF’S-WORKSHOP, so instead I like to find a few smaller, but meaningful decorations to get into the holiday spirit at home.

One of my very favorite Christmas decorations are stockings. Nowadays, I usually get things like toothpaste and loofahs in my stocking on Christmas, but I remember early Christmases when my mom would fill them to the brim with adorable gifts. They bring back some fond childhood memories. Not to mention, these stockings from TinyPrints have each of our names on them, which was a really special touch to me. Monja is definitely part of the fam, so he got one, too! And while Paul doesn’t live here, he’s definitely special to us, so he got one as well! 🙂

This fireplace mantle also houses a few of my favorite things: a colorful print designed by my friend Jeff, some quirky pots I painted, a print that reminds me of my time in Tokyo, and some beaded pompoms from a trip to Thailand. I always feel a surge of happiness here.

The stockings are a nice quality — can you tell? I love that you can see the thick stitching of the cloth!

I also made some holiday cards to send to friends, family, and recent clients. I’m a big fan of snail mail and love that this tradition exists during the holidays. The cards have one of my favorite pictures of the year with me and my pup, Monja. In case you didn’t know, I really love that dog. 🙂

Here’s a close-up of the cards! I’m into herringbone right now, and was stoked to find this letterpress version! I love the simple texture it adds to my TinyPrints holiday cards.
Last but not least, I’m excited to get a Christmas tree very soon! I’ve never actually bought one for my own apartment, but when my old roommate got one last year, Monja thought it was a giant treat, so hopefully we can work on that this year. 😉 I was also thinking that I’d buy a special ornament each year and start building a collection. Do you have any meaningful ornaments?
How are you decorating for the holidays? If you’re making holiday cards, I’d love to see them! 🙂 TinyPrints is actually having a 40% off sale on holiday cards right now, so you might want to hop to that! And of course, have a beautiful evening, friends. 🙂

Hi Mel:
In my opinion simple decorations are always the best 😉
I loved the christmas stockings; it’s very cute that Monja also has one ♥!
Also your holiday cards are very pretty; I’ve never made holiday cards but I tend to give small presents for my family and friends 😀
Have a lovely day~
-Hugs-
Thank you Cori! I can see you making super creative and fun holiday cards one day! 🙂
Your holiday cards are adorable!
Thank you!! 🙂 I have you on my list to get one, by the way! 😀
I love your holiday cards and stockings! I am gushing over the way you decorate right now. Too cute. Just wanted to let you know too that the last link (the 40% off one) isn’t working for me.
You’re so sweet, Coley! Thank you! 🙂 And thank you for pointing that out about the link — doh! All fixed now. 🙂
Super awesome that Monja has a stocking of his own too! Woohoo!
hehe I know right?! I was so excited to get one for him! 🙂
You’ve got some pretty cool cards.
Thank you Noor! 🙂
Love those christmas cards! And those stockings look adorable!

Thanks so much, Evelin! 🙂
Your holiday cards are adoooooorable!!
You’re so sweet, thank you Kayse! 🙂
I have a smaller version of your Tokyo print. It’s so charming! I got the calendar with 12 different cities and framed them all. 🙂 Also, your Christmas cards are so super adorable!!
AW! I think I saw that calendar and loved each of the cities. So cute! And thank you! 🙂
Living in an elf’s workshop doesn’t sound too bad to me actually… hehe -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
haha! I might have to agree with that 😉
love your decorations!! I’m not doing much for decorations, just few. But I love your garland!
Thank you Angela! 🙂
Beautiful! I always pick out holiday cards from Target that are pretty non-denominational because a lot of my friends and clients are Jewish. It’s a hard deal to find anything Hanukkah related here in Arkansas! So it’s “warm holidays” kind of stuff for me.
Thank you! I tried to be non-denominational with mine too even though they have a Christmasy feel…I just loved that little “be merry” phrase it came with. 🙂
I love sending cards or even putting them into the mailboxes of my co-workers.
Ahh isn’t it fun? Such a happy feeling!
I love your cards! They are so cute. I would totally send out Christmas cards with a picture of Mina and me if I were organized enough to remember to do Christmas cards. 🙂 And your mantel is so cute! I love the stockings. I have a one for Mina, but might have to trade it in for a personalized one. I already have one with my name on it; my sister made it for me years ago.
Thanks Crystal! Aww I love that you have one for Mina, too! Having a personalized one your sister made sounds so awesomely special too 🙂
The Cards look beautiful. I love their clean design and it is such a nice gesture!
Thank you so much Lina! 🙂
